Sir Roland Richardson Sir Roland Richardson uplifts our spirits with his light-filled artwork of our Caribbean landscape, people, culture and traditions. His colorful "Plein Air" paintings, created always on location from a living subject, have earned him historic recognition as a leading Caribbean Impressionist with over 40 years of work in original oil, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, etching and more. Native to St. Martin, Sir Richardson has been distinguished with both a Knighthood and lifetime Achievement Awards for his serious contributions to St. Martin's culture. Roland Richardson Gallery in Marigot offers visitors a glimpse of island magic with wall-to-wall magnificent art, situated in an historic setting with old Creole architecture, antiques and flowering courtyard garden. New, on Thursday mornings from 10:00am to 1:00pm, Sir Richardson will conduct a Master Class at the Marigot Gallery. Art appreciators can experience painting demonstrations and creative talks while seeing live portraits, still lifes and "plein air" paintings done in the garden all come to life. A year-round exhibition at beautiful La Samanna Hotel on Baie Longue in highlighted weekly with Sir Richardson's Master Class on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am to 1:00pm in La Samanna's Rendezvous Pavilion. Sir Richardson and his wife, Laura, also invite art lovers and collectors to tour their home in French Terres Basses by special appointment. Don't miss the chance to meet this Master!
